The Greatest Carnival on Earth - Durga Puja

Any visitor from outside India who has seen the annual Durga Puja celebration of Bengal [held between end September and early October] can only be awed by the scale, gaiety and euphoria of the festivities. The divinity of the ten-armed goddess punishing the evil, charges the entire population into celebratory frenzy.

This impressive spectacle led Carl Gabriel, a carnival specialist from Trinidad to call it 'the greatest carnival on earth'.

Sunderban Tiger Safari could be the most distinct experience in wildlife expedition. Sunderban Tiger Reserve has the largest concentration of the Royal Bengal Tigers in India - 249 of them, as per UN census 2004.

The Tiger Safari is best enjoyed by boat, and the Tiger might just appear on the banks of the river to receive the reverence that it deserves. Alternatively, at the comfortable jungle eco-camp there are strategic spotting towers located near water holes, where a sighting at dusk is often possible.
